This morning we had a beautiful drive from Santander to Bilbao. The scenery was bucolic as we headed towards Basque country.
Thanks to Garmin, we entered the city and arrived extremely easily to our beautiful downtown hotel Ercilla (really outstanding www.hotelercilla.es ). We checked in and walked a few blocks directly to the Guggenheim museum before the rains came. There was a giant dog in front of the museum (completely made out of real live flowers).
We got some interesting shots from inside the Guggenheim as well:
Inside the main atrium of the museum…
The largest exhibit – note person in back right.
Looking for dinner the first night….. We walked in the drizzling rain, but found nothing but smoky tapas bars or a very expensive restaurant. So we came back to the hotel and had a nice dinner in the very fancy hotel dining room.

Margo: That exhibit above this is big, isn't it? I didn't even catch the person at first, but he really puts the exhibit size in perspective! Jean
